Solo

If you have a Solo, do you need another? I believe so.
The moment I had a 108mm in my hands I knew I was sold for life.

They are so unlike any current Victorinox that they feel like a whole different SAK altogether.
From what I understand is that Victorinox got an order from the Bundeswehr, the German Army, to make a GAK to their specifications. Later the 108mm was used in civilian models as well. Although there may have been plans for a civilian 108mm model prior to the GAK release.
It’s a chicken and egg story and we may never know. At least with the chicken we know for sure the egg came first…

The 108mm Solo is my favorite single blade SAK. I like the Sentinel too, but there is something about the Solo that grabs me. It’s also not as threatening to the not crowd that is not that used to knives.

This one came with a lanyard. According to the seller it’s the original one. While it looked familiar to me I can not find any reference to a lanyard that came with any 108mm model. So perhaps it’s just the lanyard he put on it when he got it.
Luckily this was not the main selling point for me, I just wanted another Solo.
